January 28 Back to normal...thank god! Gosh, I was in a mood yesterday! Try as you might, we all get like that now and again. It was pretty nasty at work and I almost went down the bullying route....but finally snapped and told the person what I thought. Seems to have cleared the air for now....so its happy. happy again! Anyway its Busters birthday tomorrow and we're off to Blackpool for a couple of nights, should be good!
Happy Birthday Buster....my lovely husband, best friend and personal chef! xx January 27 Well Val, you've finally discovered who your friends are.... Oh this isn't going to be my usual cheery blog. I feel really down today. You know I've talked about the "controller" at work in my earlier blogs, well its been bad lately and its built up until yesterday when we had a massive blow out at the weekly team leader meeting. I said all I needed to say and felt a release. This morning though I feel worse...why? Well I've just realised that I work with mere work colleagues when I thought I had friends there....I know, naive really! Its still unfinished because my present manager and past managers have ignored this bully and it takes the only woman team leader to show that she has balls more than the men, (scary I know lol). I need to tell my manager he has let me down and also keep reminding myself that I'm surrounded by work colleagues and not even genuine ones at that. If any one thought I was their friend, well they are not using my definition of a friend. My work place is full of spineless gits....and now I have stood up to the bully, I seem to have isolated myself. I hate people who just think "I'm alright Jack", spineless, totally spineless! I only hope I quickly get over this and am back to my usual self....thank god for my lovely husband and family, also genuine friends..... January 15 Tonights grub!!! Its Friday again.....yippppeeeee!!! On the menu is stilton & garlic stuffed mushrooms with salad. I've cooked tonight....yes I can cook! Its Chicken one pot, with olives and capers. I saw the recipe on this morning and it looked lovely. We're having this with cucumber & mint dressing......sweet potatoes and stir fried Pak choi. I have never tasted capers before....in fact I never knew what the hell they were until I googled them yesterday.......capers are a floral bud of a thorny shrub.....(Capparis spinosa )...from the Mediterranean region, so there you go! Mind you, we haven't tasted it yet!!!! January 09 Tonights grub! On the Maxwell menu tonight is....Indian home cooked! Poppadoms to start with side dishes......then Tandoori chicken as seen on the F Word final with pilau rice. tomato & coriander chutney and mint and cucumber raita.....ummm, can't wait! I love all this cooking together lark at the weekend. I'm not so keen on starting back work on Monday after a long Christmas break but you just have to count your blessings! We're lucky to have good jobs and a happy home life.....(thats what I tell myself anyway!)... Well, here's my second attempt at my Christmas card for next year....this is based on a card Buster bought for me, so it would be special. More suited for a woman though! Hope I can carry on drawing once I go back to work on Monday! aggghhhh!!! January 05 Christmas card design for next year?
This is my first attempt at drawing/designing my own Christmas card for next year.....well, OK its my second attempt. Buster said my first attempt looked like a five year old had done it! I drew this on my graphics tablet, which is harder than free drawing in my opinion. Anyway, I think its OK. If I can do one well enough, I will get some printed with our names and verse etc.....Oh anyway, its a good hobby for me.....as Buster says, it keeps me quiet, (and out of mischief!) January 02 Fantastico!!!! I've been busy painting the menu board picture showing tonights meal while Buster cooks it....thats a good deal eh? He chased me away, but I'm going in now, like it or not, to bake the chees bread! The shepherds pie is from Gino's ccok book "Fantastico"....lets hope it is! January 01 Happy new year! Happy new year to you all out there....Best wishes for 2010. Hope you all had a good party last night, we had a great time at my nieces house....I've uploaded some pics for you to see. We took a few short videos of nephews dancing which I might youtube later....theres a dodgy one of Buster too that I may upload if he gets on my nerves at all! ha ha. December 30 Happy new year!
Here we are....nearly at the end of another year! Its gone by so fast, way too fast to do everything we want to do. The cooking has thankfully continued, with Buster seemingly enjoying it more and more....I help equally though, I'm not turning into a couch potato. I've just painted a little pic for you...added a little quote too. I hope to carry on drawing and painting in the new year, yeah, my new hobby. Its great if I can't find a picture quote, it means I can just draw one. Need to go now to eat our supper, Busters veg soup with my Parmesan and tomato bread!
