Its a standing joke where I work that I am not a lover of back shift Friday!!

 

Well, that's where I've been tonight, (not as exciting as our usual cooking together & glass of wine night).

 

Instead it was our back shift treat of sending someone out to the local chippie or takeaway! Tonight it was cheeseburger & chips......it was crap compared to my home cooking......with Allan's help!

 

....but anyway its over now, sitting relaxing  with a cup of tea and a Jammie dodger!!....(if you believe that you believe anything!!).

 

 

 

Friday again......yippee!!!!!

 

Yes, we are cooking again!!......candles are lit, we have had a bath, (yes together, but don't they make the baths smaller these days???? we used to fit in  it so snuggly.....and we haven't put weight on.....)

 

We have had our first course of spicy prawns with salad. Next we are having, chicken wrapped in parma ham, with sundried tomatoes, cocktail mushrooms, and brie, with roasted butternut squash and sweet potatoes..............should we or shouldn't we  open a bottle of wine??

 

Oh, OK then......

 

 

 

 

At last...I have finally got my Internet connection back after almost a week!

 

I have upgraded my broadband package, but customer services told me I wouldn't lose my Internet....if they had I would never have done it.

 

I drove my husband mad all weekend because I couldn't go online to look at eBay and all those lovely online shops...(& christmas on the way as well....awful!!)...also I couldn't look on my space!

 

Well its over now, I'm back online and raring to spend some cash! Trouble is , I have to go to work on back shift soon....so the shopping will have to wait another day!!

 

 

 

Saturday again! That means X factor and of course, the now famous "cooking together" night!

 

It might be my imagination....but these cook together Saturdays  seem to have turned in to Val does 95%, Allan does 5%....

 

Maybe Al is just having an off day, but he seems to have got bored with it and gone back to his beer 'n' crap movies mode!!.......He still talks about the food we are about to prepare/eat...but seems to disappear a lot!....( he wants to try doing it for 27 years!! )

 

....Well, good while it lasted.....anyone for chinese??

I just answered the door to a six foot beetle who smacked me round the head and told me to f*** off. Apparently there's a nasty bug going round.

 

 

 

We have just ordered some new furniture on eBay....of all places!....

 

EBay should really be banned for anyone who has had more than 1 glass of wine...coz after that it seems to get complicated!!.......Hopefully I have got the right furniture and discount for delivery that I was after.......should have gone to next!!

 

Apart from that, I have had a brilliant night....cooking & messing about on the computer!...(just the usual!)...don't you love Fridays??

Hope you are all enjoying your Saturday......I am just waiting for the X factor results. I couldn't  really watch it properly tonight coz I was overseeing the cooking!!.....trust me to boast about now good hubby is getting in the kitchen..........he has a long way to go!!....

 

It was nice, but he went overboard with the chilli in the veg....I tried to advise him not to, but he thinks he knows best. I made the main course and sauce, I thought I had left the easy bit to him.

 

......also he  left the gas on, which probably explains why I have a splitting headache and why he is flat out!!!.....(I think we'll get a Chinese next week!!!)

 

I couldn't wait to go onto ns&i website to see if we'd won the big 1 million Ernie prize. (premium bonds).....but guess what??.... no, we hadn't, but we had won £100 so we should still be celebrating!

 

We have been cooking together again.....ahhh!.....it was really lovely. Then we have been scanning old photos of us from the 80's..............god, we looked skinny & fit then!!....isn't it silly....coz at the time I remember thinking how fat & ugly I felt....god, I wish I could  go back & tell myself to just stop moaning and just enjoy life!

 

These days I am much more laid back and enjoy each day, we both do, but you still wish you could turn back time!

 

In another 20 years time we will look back and think how fit we were in 2007.....so we are going to just enjoy the moment!!

 

By the way....I should be back shift tonight....but decided to take a days leave just to cook hubby a meal!!!....(well, that's what I told him.......truth is I just couldn't  be bothered!)
