November 06 Its the Weekend.....cook us a curry Buster!Expectant of greater things,
We try climbing - Higher And Higher; An effort that costs us much, Leaving us short of breath To find only The ground below is much prettier. Another Friday, another curry made by Buster! I like it when he makes curry as it seems to make me redundant!....(well, until it comes to the washing up!). I'm sitting watching, (or semi-watching), a film on TV. Its raining and miserable outside, but doesn't mean it has to be inside! Didn't think I'd say this, but this week at work has been good! A lot of refurbishment is due to go on and we'll all be busy, but I think thats what I need....busy, busy! Oh, I love weekends and we only really appreciate them because we work so hard all week, (don't laugh!). Its been a nice week too as the man at work I told you about, (who had been on sick with depression) came back to work and settled in well. Something he said made me realise how lucky I am....he said "I hate weekends" because he is so lonely. I really hope he finds that special person soon...... November 02 Fun's over...just for now!Isn't it funny that no matter how S-L-O-W the weekend goes, its never long enough! The main thing is that we all enjoyed it and have stored a few more memories. I had a bad dream last night about Buster, won't go into details but he wasn't very nice. Thats the good thing about bad dreams, you feel sad when you wake up but wow the relief when its not true! Must be awful the other way around and we've all been there. Life is so short that we've just got to make the most of everything.....do things that you want to do, buy the things you want while you can afford it. Realise how lucky you are and appreciate what you have...not what you don't have. Its been a hard year for my mam and dad and proof to us all how things can change overnight. You know what, even back shift is going to be good for me today....I'm so relieved my dream wasn't true and I'm going to phone Buster now and tell him I'm a lucky girl!! ha ha. October 31 Happy Halloween!!!!October 30 Happy Weekend!Just thought I'd pop in for a quick blog. Haven't been around here much all week, I've been on facebook daily though.....just because its so much quicker to see what everyone is up to. With the extra time saved we've been to the cinema more, (our front room) and the best restaurant in town!, (our kitchen). Its surprising how much time you save. I don't seem to have had anything exciting or different to say lately....when I do I will be back. I'm looking forward to a long weekend. I've taken back shift Friday off to spend with Buster and cook, (as usual). Been shopping this morning for all the ingredients to make Wok Chicken and Sticky pork.....favourites of ours from a local Bistro, hope it tastes as nice! October 23 Heres Sam....The weekend is upon us, yeah!!! whooopppeeeee doo, so happy! Tonight has been great, a few chores, watched a soppy film while Buster tidied the garden and put the net on his Koi pond. Then we made homemade lasagne while waiting for our Asda online shopping to be delivered....so much simpler than the mad dash, trolley bashing, car crunching panic of a weekend supermarket shop. Then we had a bit of Internet shopping via Amazon! I fancied a herb pot for the kitchen window ledge, a rustic one with blackboard on the front to write the different herbs. Oh, says Buster.....while you're on there, whats the latest DVD releases? £53 later and we're done! Then I ordered a Bag puss that you can heat up in the microwave, (Bag puss Hotti!), I love bagpuss.....we've spent loads over the years trying to win a bagpuss via the Blackpool fairground "grab" machines, why didn't we buy a £11.99 bagpuss hotti sooner??
Here is a pic of me and "Sam". Sam was a dog we found on our bed at the Midlands hotel in Morcambe. Buster asked to buy him for £15, just for me! I thought it was sweet anyway.....the woman at reception didn't have a clue what he was on about when he said "I want to buy the dog in our room!"...apparently it was a new thing, with half the money going to Charity!.....anyway, I'll always look at Sam and think of our "romantic" night at Morcambe!....(Romantic was one way to describe it! wink wink) Buster has gone to bed already! I refuse to go to bed early on Friday, no matter how tired I am.....I don't work all week for that!!!! Oh no! ha ha. October 20 Back to work girl!Back to reality today for me....good old back shift! Its been a great week off, always is, (much better than work anyway). We had a great night at the Midlands Hotel in Morcambe. Its lovely inside, they've renovated it so well. The room was lovely, with gorgeous walk in shower/wet room and toilet that unfolds from a cupboard, (I think I already described this to you!). It was funny through night when Buster was wandering around the room muttering where is the ******* toilet? Ha ha....I knew he would, (its a mans thing)....he hadn't even had that much drink so he can't blame that. The meal was lovely, expensive, but lovely and its nice to treat yourself now and again. Yesterday was spent being quite lazy and moping about, and listening to that wind outside, I quite fancy another days moping around the house. October 17 Lazy Saturday! You'll be pleased to know that I've recovered from my bout of boredom last night....think I need a new hobby, something challenging!!! Never mind, its been a wonderful, sunny day. We went for a short drive out to a local beach, the sea air makes you feel good, then stopped off at a garden centre that had its lovely Christmas display out.....can't face buying anything Christmassy though. then back home for a totally lazy day! We're going off for a night away tomorrow so that will be fun....a bit of shopping, a nice meal, what more can a woman want? Hopefully I can time it right so that we are in our hotel room for the X Factor results tomorrow night....otherwise maybe view in a local pub there?? Whats cooking??Friday night.....and we're cooking, just for a change! This time its chicken. We made a marinade with lemon, garlic, olive oil, soy sauce, sherry, (again), mango and various herbs....hopefully this will taste nice when the flavours cook through....well, that is the plan. Its gone into the oven now to cook for a couple of hours along with a veg hot pot. Think we've made enough to last us days!. I'll tell you what its like later. Hope I'm not boring you all with this cooking lark, we've still so much to learn about mixing flavours etc.....we'd be a laughing stock should we have to go on Master chef .....laughing "stock" get it! ha ha.
Just picked a large bunch of nice flowers out of the garden, I'm sure this will be our last this year. The garden is still looking good even though the leaves are falling.....lovely autumn colours, its still so nice sitting here looking out at it all. I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sureFriday yippppeeeeeeeeeeeee, It won't be long until Buster is home from work and our long weekend can begin! We'll pop out for a bit of shopping and a bite to eat. Wonder what will be on the menu tonight.....food wise that is! We've decided that we'll enjoy the weekend at home but go away for a night Sunday night seeings we are both off on Monday. All I've done this morning is wash my hair and hoover the house but at least thats the boring stuff out of the way.....let the fun begin! Do you think its OK to be still seeking fun now we are supposed to be "grown up"? October 15 Little quote.....just coz I'm bored!Everyone is entitled to be stupid,
but some abuse the privilege
Oh, I'm just a teensy bit bored, I've washed cupboards and tidied my drawers!!!..... Here's me making a lovely tea for Buster and now he tells me he won't be in until 8.00pm. Sorry but my stomach can't wait that long....afraid Buster will just have to have his warmed up......thats not so bad is it?? Lovely little quote....aw!To love someone is nothing,
to be loved by someone is something,
to love someone who loves you is everything. ♥
Love this little quote that someone had put onto facebook, it says it all really! I'm looking forward to the weekend coz Buster has taken Monday off, so that means a long weekend together, aw, we can't wait! Don't know whether to go away for 1 night or have a weekend away at home, (if you know what I mean!). We'll go off through the day to the lakes or nearby then come home to our own exclusive hotel, complete with personal chef, (which happens to be Buster). I think you've cracked it when going away or staying at home create equal excitement. Hopefully he won't fall asleep, or be distracted by his Koi!!! October 14 Cute kids competition winner! How proud are we as a family!!!!.......Here is my gorgeous great-niece Ella, (my sisters grand daughter), she has just found out that she has won the Cute Kids competition in the local paper. She is a little princess, very spoilt but gorgeous, they are all over the moon. Here she is with her prize of a printed canvas.....isn't it lovely to have nice news? Funny how everyone wants her to stay at their house this weekend.....including me! ha ha. October 13 Another blessing....well, can't think what to write! Here's to a long life and a merry one
A quick death and an easy one A pretty girl and an honest one A cold beer and another one! Hey, I think my Buster would like this Irish blessing! Here I am enjoying my second day off work, didn't think you could be so happy doing nowt much at all! I'm quite happy in my own company, which is good! I know that its only because I know Buster will be home in a few hours or so. Umm, what can I do today? I can't think at all, maybe just go visiting someone or other, if that fails.....well, shopping it is! October 12 Irish blessing!!!May those that love us, love us.
And those that don't love us, May God turn their hearts. And if He doesn't turn their hearts, May He turn their ankles So we will know them by their limping.
I thought this Irish blessing was a good one. It would be so simple in this life if we could see who truly loved/liked us.....then we wouldn't be wasting our precious time on ones that don't deserve it....clever! Today has been a super duper Monday, yes I like Mondays after all. Its great being off work, not having to rush anywhere, just taking time out to take in everything around us. I love being at home, wish Buster was off work too, but even when he's not here, he is all around me, if you know what I mean. Tea is prepared and housework all done...so the rest of the day is mine. Called up to see my mam and dad earlier, I took dad some article I found on the Internet about Phantom leg pain in amputees. Dad suffers terribly with it. In America they have discovered that mirror therapy helps....its simple but is supposed to trick the mind. It works by sitting on the floor with a long mirror in between your legs, facing the leg you still have! It then looks like you have two legs and you can move the good leg which tricks the mind into thinking you are moving/massaging your other "missing" leg. It must be awful suffering pain in a leg thats not there, all the drugs in the world won't help that. Me & dad believe strongly in mind over matter and think this is worth a try! If it works, I'll be one happy daughter!!!!! October 10 Enjoy your weekend!Saturday once again! I haven't been around much lately....have gone a bit stale, nothing new to report really, so didn't bother writing. Happy as ever, but don't want to bore you with the same old crack! Having said that....now I'm here I may as well tell you about my Saturday. Allan was at work so off I went shopping....and plenty shopping was done! New coat, boots, jeans, scarves, cardie etc.....had to make 2 journeys back to car to unload. Had a great time! Just ate a lovely cannelloni and garlic bread, (a joint effort0, yum, bit fattening, (well, probably very fattening!), but nice and well, it is Saturday!. Just waiting for X Factor to come on....yeah!!!!! Glass of rose in hand, perfect! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend, whatever you are up to! October 02 Whats on the menu??Wonder whats on the menu this weekend? What treats has Buster got in store for me.....food wise I hope?!? Today I am back shift, so that means Chinese at work and not an intimate meal with hubby! Never mind, I'll try to make the best of it! Its Friday ....yeahhhhhhh! Love em! Miserable day outside so good back shift weather, quite a bit of work to do at work as well. Also I need to look online, (in my bait time of course!), we need bits and pieces for our Christmas party. We are all having tee shirts printed......we suggested "Laundry babes" on the front, one of the lads said "No, Laundry bags", cheek....but quite funny! Then we have our names on the back, mine is virginal Val....not my idea, and just shows how innocent I come across!!!!, (great actress!). We're also wearing pink tutu's with wet look leggings and pink leg warmers and pink wigs....ha ha, those photos will be a laugh! September 28 One down!Is it really Monday today? Its been a good day on the whole....it went by in a flash with no problems or stress issues at work. I feel a lot better today now I have been out to see my team member who has been on sick for weeks. He's been in a low way and hitting the bottle big time as his partner had left him, plus other issues. It got so bad that we didn't think he would last a week unless he stopped drinking, (yeah it was that bad!)......which thankfully he has. I gave him a hug and we talked about loads, I can relax a bit now I have seen him, I really hope he will be back at work soon. Oh I hate it though when you feel sorry for someone, I could have cried when I looked at him, (if I wasn't such a hard bitch ha ha), he's lost so much weight and needs built up. It makes me feel lucky to be so happy and not be depressed, its such a hard place to be
