November 06 Its the Weekend.....cook us a curry Buster!Expectant of greater things,
We try climbing - Higher And Higher; An effort that costs us much, Leaving us short of breath To find only The ground below is much prettier. Another Friday, another curry made by Buster! I like it when he makes curry as it seems to make me redundant!....(well, until it comes to the washing up!). I'm sitting watching, (or semi-watching), a film on TV. Its raining and miserable outside, but doesn't mean it has to be inside! Didn't think I'd say this, but this week at work has been good! A lot of refurbishment is due to go on and we'll all be busy, but I think thats what I need....busy, busy! Oh, I love weekends and we only really appreciate them because we work so hard all week, (don't laugh!). Its been a nice week too as the man at work I told you about, (who had been on sick with depression) came back to work and settled in well. Something he said made me realise how lucky I am....he said "I hate weekends" because he is so lonely. I really hope he finds that special person soon...... November 02 Fun's over...just for now!Isn't it funny that no matter how S-L-O-W the weekend goes, its never long enough! The main thing is that we all enjoyed it and have stored a few more memories. I had a bad dream last night about Buster, won't go into details but he wasn't very nice. Thats the good thing about bad dreams, you feel sad when you wake up but wow the relief when its not true! Must be awful the other way around and we've all been there. Life is so short that we've just got to make the most of everything.....do things that you want to do, buy the things you want while you can afford it. Realise how lucky you are and appreciate what you have...not what you don't have. Its been a hard year for my mam and dad and proof to us all how things can change overnight. You know what, even back shift is going to be good for me today....I'm so relieved my dream wasn't true and I'm going to phone Buster now and tell him I'm a lucky girl!! ha ha. October 31 Happy Halloween!!!!October 30 Happy Weekend!Just thought I'd pop in for a quick blog. Haven't been around here much all week, I've been on facebook daily though.....just because its so much quicker to see what everyone is up to. With the extra time saved we've been to the cinema more, (our front room) and the best restaurant in town!, (our kitchen). Its surprising how much time you save. I don't seem to have had anything exciting or different to say lately....when I do I will be back. I'm looking forward to a long weekend. I've taken back shift Friday off to spend with Buster and cook, (as usual). Been shopping this morning for all the ingredients to make Wok Chicken and Sticky pork.....favourites of ours from a local Bistro, hope it tastes as nice! October 23 Heres Sam....The weekend is upon us, yeah!!! whooopppeeeee doo, so happy! Tonight has been great, a few chores, watched a soppy film while Buster tidied the garden and put the net on his Koi pond. Then we made homemade lasagne while waiting for our Asda online shopping to be delivered....so much simpler than the mad dash, trolley bashing, car crunching panic of a weekend supermarket shop. Then we had a bit of Internet shopping via Amazon! I fancied a herb pot for the kitchen window ledge, a rustic one with blackboard on the front to write the different herbs. Oh, says Buster.....while you're on there, whats the latest DVD releases? £53 later and we're done! Then I ordered a Bag puss that you can heat up in the microwave, (Bag puss Hotti!), I love bagpuss.....we've spent loads over the years trying to win a bagpuss via the Blackpool fairground "grab" machines, why didn't we buy a £11.99 bagpuss hotti sooner??
Here is a pic of me and "Sam". Sam was a dog we found on our bed at the Midlands hotel in Morcambe. Buster asked to buy him for £15, just for me! I thought it was sweet anyway.....the woman at reception didn't have a clue what he was on about when he said "I want to buy the dog in our room!"...apparently it was a new thing, with half the money going to Charity!.....anyway, I'll always look at Sam and think of our "romantic" night at Morcambe!....(Romantic was one way to describe it! wink wink) Buster has gone to bed already! I refuse to go to bed early on Friday, no matter how tired I am.....I don't work all week for that!!!! Oh no! ha ha. October 20 Back to work girl!Back to reality today for me....good old back shift! Its been a great week off, always is, (much better than work anyway). We had a great night at the Midlands Hotel in Morcambe. Its lovely inside, they've renovated it so well. The room was lovely, with gorgeous walk in shower/wet room and toilet that unfolds from a cupboard, (I think I already described this to you!). It was funny through night when Buster was wandering around the room muttering where is the ******* toilet? Ha ha....I knew he would, (its a mans thing)....he hadn't even had that much drink so he can't blame that. The meal was lovely, expensive, but lovely and its nice to treat yourself now and again. Yesterday was spent being quite lazy and moping about, and listening to that wind outside, I quite fancy another days moping around the house. October 17 Lazy Saturday! You'll be pleased to know that I've recovered from my bout of boredom last night....think I need a new hobby, something challenging!!! Never mind, its been a wonderful, sunny day. We went for a short drive out to a local beach, the sea air makes you feel good, then stopped off at a garden centre that had its lovely Christmas display out.....can't face buying anything Christmassy though. then back home for a totally lazy day! We're going off for a night away tomorrow so that will be fun....a bit of shopping, a nice meal, what more can a woman want? Hopefully I can time it right so that we are in our hotel room for the X Factor results tomorrow night....otherwise maybe view in a local pub there?? Whats cooking??Friday night.....and we're cooking, just for a change! This time its chicken. We made a marinade with lemon, garlic, olive oil, soy sauce, sherry, (again), mango and various herbs....hopefully this will taste nice when the flavours cook through....well, that is the plan. Its gone into the oven now to cook for a couple of hours along with a veg hot pot. Think we've made enough to last us days!. I'll tell you what its like later. Hope I'm not boring you all with this cooking lark, we've still so much to learn about mixing flavours etc.....we'd be a laughing stock should we have to go on Master chef .....laughing "stock" get it! ha ha.
Just picked a large bunch of nice flowers out of the garden, I'm sure this will be our last this year. The garden is still looking good even though the leaves are falling.....lovely autumn colours, its still so nice sitting here looking out at it all. I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sureFriday yippppeeeeeeeeeeeee, It won't be long until Buster is home from work and our long weekend can begin! We'll pop out for a bit of shopping and a bite to eat. Wonder what will be on the menu tonight.....food wise that is! We've decided that we'll enjoy the weekend at home but go away for a night Sunday night seeings we are both off on Monday. All I've done this morning is wash my hair and hoover the house but at least thats the boring stuff out of the way.....let the fun begin! Do you think its OK to be still seeking fun now we are supposed to be "grown up"?
